LED has completed a gut renovation of a Landmarked townhouse located in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. Home to a jewelry executive, an artist, their young son and beloved dog Augie, LED was commissioned to modernize while maintaining the historic character of the existing structure. Authentic materials, lighting and selective demolition were deployed as devices to liberate the floor plan and connect the living and kitchen areas to the rear yard garden. A new operable galvanized steel gate was added to the rear deck that provided additional seating space while also maintaining a direct connection and daylight to the basement guest room.
