LED was commissioned to assist in the design of and oversee construction for a 9,500 sf retail and office space located in the heart of Greenwich Village. Special attention was paid to the new storefront which had to go through a rigorous LPC review and hearing process. In order to satisfy strict Landmark requirements while maintaining a modern sensibility, LED developed a textured brick fascia supported by a deep steel beam and brick piers that served to highlight the store's over-sized pivoting glass doors while nodding to the scale of the immediate urban context.
